Well, it's time to take a look at another awesome event happening in the Community. An event which brought two great organizations together.

On Tuesday February 3, 2009 at The Woodridge Public Library, in conjunction with The Chicago Wolves, The Woodridge Public Library was having it's grand finale to it's Chicago Wolves reading program.

Around the beginning of January, The Woodridge Public put on it's Chicago Wolves Reading Program, which they do every year. Kids have to read a certain amount of books during this program. To conclude the program, The Library had a Chicago Wolves Player, Matt Anderson come out to the library and answer questions, as well as signing autographs. For many of these kids it was a chance to see their Chicago Wolves Hero Matt Anderson, up close and personal. A chance to meet Matt and ask him a question. Matt spoke about his career and life as a professional hockey player, and was gracious enough to answer questions and of course sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Also there was some raffles for Chicago Wolves Memobilia. Also a highlight of the evening, was dressing one special lucky kid from the crowd in Matt's Hockey gear.

This Woodridge Library Program was in conjunction with The Chicago Wolves Read to Succeed program.

One of the Chicago Wolves most successful community endeavors is their READ TO SUCCEED program, which involves more than 28,000 children and 105 libraries in the Chicagoland area. The goal of this program is for children to spend more time in libraries so that they see the valuable resources they have to offer, and understand the benefits of reading as a recreational tool.

Through this program, the Wolves provide incentives for children who reach their reading goals. In addition, Wolves player spokesmen visit the libraries throughout the season. The players speak about the important role that education plays in their lives as professional athletes. The Player that comes out, varies from Library to Library. Several Wolves Players take part in the program. Tonight's player was Matt Anderson.
