Well, back in July 2009, The Brookfield Zoo celebrated 75th years as a
pillar of zoological filament for the community. For 75th years
Brookfield Zoo has been a place families and individuals coming to for
good entertainment, good fun, and good times. Brookfield Zoo in the
past 75th years has gone through many changes, new exhibits, different
exhibits, traveling exhibits. But one thing has remained the same, the
opportunity to see a variety of animals in a variety of natural
settings, and the ability to learn more about them. For me personally
Brookfield Zoo has provided me with some of my first positive memories
as a child, and still to this day, serve as a place I always enjoy
coming back to whether Boo at The Zoo, or Holiday Magic or even a
Sunday afternoon in February or August, I will always be coming back
with my family and will come back when I have children of my own so
they can grow up with Brookfield Zoo and take away some cherished
memories just as I have done.
So in celebration of Brookfield Zoo 75th Anniversary, the zoo had a
super duper extra special zooblation.
On Wednesday July 1, 2009 marked Brookfield’s Zoo actual 75th
Anniversary. On July 1, 1934 Brookfield Zoo officially opened
it’s doors to the public. So on Wednesday July 1, 2009 at
Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, Illinois, Brookfield Zoo had a big
celebration and anniversary party. This day included of course the
standard speeches and presentations, but also featured a wide away of
entertainment, featuring ethnic dancing and music from across the
globe. Also there was several ethnic associations with booths at the
event. Of course happy birthday was sing . And what is a party without
cake and boy was there cake. 1000 slices of chocolate and vanilla cake
to be exact. The zoo step up several cake stations to provide cake for
these very hungry cakeavos.
Also when at The Brookfield Zoo, I happened to catch Brookfield
Zoo’s new exhibit - called “Dinosaurs”, which
featured a variety of animatronic dinosaur, as well as featuring the
largest animatonic dinosaur in the world.
So happy birthday Brookfield Zoo. You don’t look at day of over
55. Thanks for the memories, and you know this weekend would be the
perfect weekend to check out Brookfield Zoo, you never know what or who
you will find there. There is always something new at Brookfield Zoo.
