Well, I always say, music is good for the mind, body, spirit and soul. So there is one great group out there really making some very special.

The Band Birdy is a great folk group performing traditional folk mixing in a variety of other types of music.

Birdy consists of Bianca Bevard and Sharon Speziale. The two very gifted and talented performers travel all over the Chicagoland Area, playing their blend of folk/gospel/rock/and just feel good music.

Birdy performs a variety of music in beautiful two-part harmony. When you attend one of their shows, you can expect to hear Birdy originals, tradional folk tunes, Celtic selections, contemporary music in a stripped down earthy style, a random Beatles tune, and a few other things thrown in for good measure. Some of their influences include Kate Rusby, Nanci Griffith, lullabies, the Appalachian Mountains, home town favorite Mark Dvorak, Peter, Paul & Mary, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, The Wailin' Jennys, music they sang at church while they were growin' up, wind blowing in the trees, golden autumn days, and the hope of spring.

Today, Sunday May 3, 2009 We find Birdy at The Woodridge Public Library. Birdy was perfect for the Woodridge Public Library’s high quality programs. If You have a chance to check Birdy, please do. Their music is very soothing, good for the soul, and just takes You back to a more simpler time, after listening to Birdy’s music, You know everything will ok.
